Have to say I absolutely love this review. The Fozzils bowls have been a go-to for me recently, for all of the mentioned reasons. I was converted by a friend that used to guide on Rainier for years. He convinced me to ditch the freezer Ziploc bags I used and upgrade to a snap bowl. Maybe I’m getting soft too…

They are pretty slick if you are going with a bowl for a trip. One drawback is that they do not sit entirely flat when unfolded, though I am always tempted to use them as a cutting board in less ultralight settings, or a plate. It actually can make them a touch tricky to pack. I wish they folded up, but that’s way too much to ask for a piece of plastic. I have put many a boiling meal in those bowls and they do great. no fear. fear is the bowl killer.

Alternatively, you can bring one freeze-dried meal for a trip and after eating the dog food inside wash with boiling water and use repeatedly as a bowl for ensuing oatmeal and ramen. A step up in security from a ziplock without the spillage chance of a bowl.
