Hello readers,
This is one of those “update” stories that we hope you don’t miss. And there will be more of these in the coming days/weeks. All of this, we hope, helps you (and us) have a somewhat seamless transition to our new site.
Feel free to read on, but this update is primarily intended for those who subscribe to The High Route website and have a recurring subscription. Here’s the deal, we will be updating your subscription on the old site, so that the auto-pay function is canceled.
(You will also be receiving an email about this, too. We are trying to cover our bases in an attempt to communicate this change. So check your junk folder, too, if you don’s see it.)
The reason for the change is that we built a new site. This required migrating subscribers into a new subscription management system. (It turns out running subscriptions for a website and a print magazine on two different subscription management platforms is clunky. Moving forward, we will use one platform.)
How will this impact you?
- We will cancel auto-pay for your annual subscription to The High Route Website.
- You will still have access to the website for the remainder of your subscription (even after we launch the new site, which is forthcoming).
- Your subscription’s auto-pay function is the only thing that changes. When your subscription expires, you will have to resubscribe manually.
Notifications of the Change:
- We will begin canceling the auto-pay function early next week. On the backend of the site, this is referred to as “canceling a subscription.” This simply cancels the auto-pay function. You can still access the content on the old website. When the new site is launched, you will still be able to access it as well.
- An email will be sent to notify you that auto-pay has been stopped on your subscription. Depending on whether you paid through Stripe or PayPal, the email will appear as follows. This email notifies a change to the auto-pay, it is not notification of a charge.
- Aside from the auto-pay cancellation, you should not experience any disruption to your website access, either on the old site or the new site, when it goes live. In short, there is no loss of subscription or any added costs.
- Examples of Stripe and Paypal email notifications, respectively, are below.
