Women’s-Specific Avalanche Education Scholarships Return For 2023-2024 Winter Season

Backcountry Access and the American Avalanche Association are pleased to announce that they are once again coming together to present a scholarship program for female-identifying avalanche professionals. The $1,500 per-candidate scholarships will provide tuition support for women taking their Professional Level 1 or Professional Level 2 Avalanche Courses in the US. The program seeks to further the representation of women in a field where they have been historically underrepresented.

AAC: Live Your Dream Grant

The Live Your Dream grant, powered by The North Face (TNF), was founded on the belief that our definitions of exploration and our goals are unique to each of us. Meaningful exploration isn’t limited to the highest peaks in the farthest reaches of the world. Your local gym, crag, and backyard mountains are equally important resources to help stoke inspiration for adventure. When we search out new experiences, overcome obstacles, and connect with each other, through exploration, we change ourselves. The Live Your Dream grant includes ski-mountaineering objectives.

AAC: ZACK MARTIN BREAKING BARRIERS GRANT
